Edward Gittins & Associates           Planning

Edward Gittins & Associates are Planning Consultants based at Fordham Heath, Colchester, founded in 1991 by the Chartered Town Planner Edward Gittins. 

Edward Gittins is a former Head of Local Plans at Colchester Borough Council where he was active in countryside conservation projects in Dedham Vale and the Roman River Valley.  He is a former Chairman of the Dedham Vale Technical Officers Committee.  Edward has been active in various countryside conservation projects and introduced the concept of Countryside Conservation Areas to the local planning system.  

He has wide experience of Planning in Essex and is a former Lecturer in Rural and Natural Resource Planning at the Polytechnic of the South Bank, London.  He has also served as Chairman of the influential RTPI Accreditation Panel which accredits all the recognised planning courses in the UK, Eire, Malaysia and Hong Kong.  He is currently Honorary Planning Advisor to the Essex Playing Fields Association and The River Stour Trust.
